The General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) and The Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF) have announced the inaugural launch of the HS132 fast interceptor boat, the first locally manufactured boat of its kind. The first floating dock was also inaugurated. In partnership between Constructions Mécaniques de Normandie (CMN) and Zamil Offshore, this step formed part of a comprehensive localization plan for the Kingdom’s Defense Sector. Moreover, this capability shall be manufactured and localized as per the latest word-class industry standards & specifications.
This batch is a continuation of previous batches received by RSNF through an agreement with the aforementioned CMN. In terms of scope, the agreement includes manufacturing and supplying HSI32 boats, wherein a part of these boats will be manufactured in France whilst the other will be manufactured in-Kingdom. Also included is the Transfer Of Technology (TOT). A solid framework of joint cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and France in the area of Defense enabled and facilitated this milestone achievement.
The inauguration ceremony, which took place at Zamil Offshore Headquarters in the Eastern Province, was attended by GAMI Governor Ahmad Al-Ohali, RSNF commander Lieutenant General Fahd Al-Ghafili, Zamil Group Chairman Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Zamil, France Ambassador Mr. Francois Goyette, the French assistant military attaché, and a number of senior officials from the relevant entities.
